I started as a web developer — the kind who cares as much about Lighthouse scores and accessibility as feature velocity. Somewhere around building my third internal tool that "could really use a recommendation engine," I got pulled into machine learning, and never really came back. Today I split my time between full-stack product work and applied AI engineering: fine-tuning and evaluating models, building RAG and agent pipelines, and shipping ML features that survive contact with real users and real data. I'm currently formalizing that shift through a Master's in AI & Autonomous Systems and the IBM AI Engineering Professional Certificate, while keeping one foot in production code — because the best ML systems I've seen were built by people who also know how to run a database migration at 2am. I'm looking for AI engineering roles (and select freelance projects) where I can own something end-to-end: model to API to interface.
